What to expect from our Saint-Emilion half-day wine tour

Venture into Saint-Emilion for a half-day tour departing from Bordeaux, to discover the village, its wines and its history. Visit the Saint-Emilion vines, on the right side of the Garonne River, and taste some of the appellation’s wines at a renowned château.

The tour departs from Olala in the center of Bordeaux, near the Grand Théâtre. Explore St. Emilion in the comfort of a van driven by your friendly guide who will carry out the tour in English (other languages available on private tours).

Guided tour of Saint-Emilion village

Your first stop will be Saint-Emilion village, where you’ll be immersed in the history and significant monuments of the village which has been awarded UNESCO world heritage status. Your guide will reveal the secrets of the medieval village, which is the birthplace of Bordeaux viticulture.

Wine tasting at a St. Emilion château

You will then visit a St. Emilion château where you will taste 3 local wines, accompanied by charcuterie and cheese. You will learn more about the characteristics of the Saint-Emilion appellation, particularly the grape varieties and winemaking methods used to create such unique wines.

You will then return to your departure point in Bordeaux. Before leaving, your guide will provide you with some recommendations for Bordeaux.

This small group tour for up to 8 people set in stunning surroundings, is the perfect introduction to the art of winemaking and wine tasting, and your knowledgeable guide will be on hand to answer any questions.

How to book this St. Emilion wine tasting tour

Don’t forget your water bottle to fill up in the morning. At Olala Bordeaux we aim to keep plastic waste to a minimum.

Children under the age of 16 and dogs are not permitted but may be accommodated on a private tour. If you’d prefer to experience the tour in another language (French or Spanish), a private tour can be arranged.
