What to expect from our Margaux vineyards tour

Discover the impressive vineyards of the Margaux appellation and try their renowned wines. Visit the famous châteaux of the Médoc wine region around the village of Margaux, on the left bank of the Garonne, near Bordeaux. Below are the details of your itinerary for our half-day Margaux vineyard tour.

We’ll meet early in the afternoon at Olala in the center of Bordeaux, near the Grand Théâtre. You’ll board a comfortable van and set off with your guide in a small group of up to 8 people.

Once you’ve arrived in the Médoc, it’s time for first wine château visit, where you’ll enjoy a tasting of 3 Margaux wines and learn what makes the Margaux appellation so unique. During this Médoc wineries tour, you’ll discover the different grape varieties used to make Margaux wines. It’s a family-run estate where you’ll have the opportunity to talk to wine experts who will explain the winegrowing and winemaking techniques used.

Next, we make a quick photo stop outside the famous Château Margaux for a little memento.

We then continue our tour onto an impressive Grand Cru Classé château where we’ll taste some more Margaux appellation wine for your second guided visit. You’ll learn about the history and architecture of this iconic domain, before putting your sensory skills to the test by attempting to detect the aromas and flavours from 3 carefully crafted Médoc blends.

We return to Bordeaux late afternoon and your guide will drop you back at Olala on rue Mably. Before leaving, don’t forget to ask for the guide’s recommendations and tips for Bordeaux.

This small group tour of up to 8 people set in beautiful surroundings, makes the perfect introduction to the art of winemaking and wine tasting, while making good use of your knowledgeable guide.

How to book this Médoc wineries tour

Don’t forget your water bottle to fill up in the morning. At Olala Bordeaux we aim to keep plastic waste to a minimum.

Children under the age of 16 and dogs are not permitted but may be accommodated on a private tour.
