What to expect from our Saint-Emilion vineyard tour

Enjoy a St. Emilion day trip delving into Saint-Emilion wines and history, departing from Bordeaux. Embark on a guided tour taking in Saint-Emilion village, its vineyards and châteaux, where you’ll taste wines of the Saint-Emilion appellation on the right side of the Garonne. This tour will be performed in English. If you would prefer another language, a private tour of Saint-Emilion may be requested.

Here’s the schedule for our Saint-Emilion wine tour from Bordeaux:

Morning: visit to Saint-Emilion village and one wine château

In the morning you’ll meet at Olala Bordeaux at 2ter rue Mably, in Bordeaux city center. You’ll depart in a small group of up to 8 people in a comfortable vehicle.

Once you’ve arrived in Saint-Emilion village, a declared UNESCO world heritage site, you’ll be guided through the history and significant monuments of the impressive village. You’ll discover the secrets of this charming medieval village, which is the birthplace of Bordeaux viticulture.

Late morning, you’ll visit your first wine château for a guided tasting session including 3 fine Saint-Emilion wines.

For lunch, a picnic awaits you in the château. A traditional French caterer will provide delicious, fresh products presented in jars,  washed down with a glass of wine.

Afternoon: visit to 2 wine châteaux

The afternoon begins with a visit to a second Saint-Emilion Grand Cru château where you’ll taste 2 wines. You will learn more about what sets the Saint-Emilion appellation apart, particularly the grape varieties and winemaking methods used to create such stand-out wines.

The tour will end with a visit to a third château for a final tasting session with 3 wines.

You’ll return to Bordeaux late afternoon and the guide will drop you back at Olala Bordeaux. Before heading off, don’t forget to ask for their recommendations and top tips for Bordeaux.

How to book this St Emilion wine tasting tour

Don’t forget your water bottle to fill up in the morning. At Olala Bordeaux we aim to keep plastic waste to a minimum.

While the châteaux and schedule may vary, the quality of our visits never will.
