Saint Emilion : Food and wine escape

Depart from the city center of Bordeaux aboard a van to discover Saint-Emilion, its wines, and its history. First, your guide will immerse you in the history of this UNESCO World Heritage site and its historical monuments through a village visit. You will discover the secrets of this medieval town, which is the birthplace of Bordeaux viticulture.

At noon, a visit and tasting of 3 wines will await you in a castle of the appellation. On the menu, a picnic from an artisanal and traditional caterer, who proposes fresh, local and tasty products, presented in the form of jars, as well as charcuterie from the Basque Country and cheeses, accompanied by a glass of wine!

Afterwards, you will visit a second castle and enjoy a tasting of 2 wines. You will learn more about the specificities of this appellation, including the grape varieties and the wine making techniques used to create these unique wines. To finish the day, you will go to another chateau for a final tasting of 3 wines.

This tour in a small group and in an ideal setting will allow you to learn about the art of winemaking and tasting, and to ask all your questions to our guide!

Don’t forget to take your water bottle to fill it up in the morning, at Olala Bordeaux we are committed to limiting our plastic waste! The guide conduct the tour in English, he adapts to the participants. The chateaux and the schedule may vary, but the quality of the offer will remain the same. Children under 16 and pets are not allowed for the comfort of the group, so a private tour will be more suitable in your case.

It is imperative to arrive 10 minutes before the departure time of your tour, no delay possible, to ensure the comfort of the group and the respect of the schedule.

9.30am
Meet your tour guide at Olala’s workshop, situated at 2 ter Mably street in Bordeaux center. We drive to Saint-Emilion as a small group (8 persons maximum), on a modern and comfortable minivan;
10.15am
Walking guided visit of Saint-Emilion village, a marvellous UNESCO site.
11.30am
Visit of two superb different estates on the same site and commented tasting of 3 great wines from these properties
12.30pm
Picnic lunch at the château : enjoy local and fresh products, accompanied by a glass of wine (Vegetarian option available on reservation).
1.30pm
Visit of an estate in Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, and friendly tasting of their wines
3.30pm
Back to Bordeaux, drop off at Olala Workshop. Before to leave, don't hesitate to ask to your guide his good tips and recommandations.
